Hey, Sprout! First all I really want to thank you for all your help.
Here was the last post you helped me with, just to give you a refresher.

I was wondering you could help me pick out another clean diamond. Just looking for a few options. With a bigger table maybe that makes it look bigger than it is? haha.. i know I may be being greedy 😀
Here is one that I found using your search engine.
What do you think?

Thank you in advance!
Hi Qid, I think the 1.18 J SI1 you selected is on the lower end of the J spectrum – it looks a bit creamy in profile view. Since you’re getting a white gold setting, I tried to find J’s that were on the upper end of the J spectrum, closer to I. The options below also have larger tables to try to maximize the diameter for the carat weight while still being optimally cut. Let me know what you think.

So I guess I just noticed they go in and out of stock? 3 options now
Do you think the blemish on the face of the 1.23 cart diamond will be noticeable?
Wow, the good deals go fast! I don’t think IGI vs. GIA matters because you can check the color and clarity in the pictures and see that they are comparable. Additionally, I did a study of IGI-GIA dual certified diamonds that suggest they have comparable grading standards. That fact that IGI generally trades at a discount to GIA is what allows you to get the extra 0.1ct for about the same price. https://www.diamondscreener.com/education/comparing-diamond-certification-labs-gia-vs-igi-grading-and-prices/ I think the 1.23ct should be eye-clean. On my monitor, the crystal is 1mm x 2mm. The diamond diameter is 95mm on screen with an actual diameter of 6.92mm. Scaling this to actual proportions, the crystal would be 73 microns by 146 microns in size. For reference, the width of a human hair is 17-181 microns. In actual size terms this is about the width of a human hair. I think it will be difficult to pick out 12-18 inches away in a sparkling diamond, but perhaps you or your girlfriend have eagle eyes.
Hey Joe, Thanks for your help! Seems like two of the diamonds are unavailable, the other two are very nice! One is graded by IGI, should I be concerned by that for appraisal purposes? Is GIA a better choice? Thanks!
